Stone Retaining Wall and Fire Pit
Mountain views and rolling hills are a wonderful backdrop for this outdoor living space. The curved stone walls soften the lines of the home. Landscape lighting accentuates the curving lines. A sweeping staircase takes you down to a warm fire pit on a lower level, and takes advantage of the slope the home was built on. Additional boulders were placed in the hillside, along with plantings, for a natural look that is in keeping with the surrounding landscape. This retaining wall is an attractive and functional way of transitioning from one elevation in your yard to another.

A steep bank was reshaped and molded into a double pond with connecting waterfall. The falls and an additional retaining wall was constructed of local stone, in keeping with the character of the home. Extensive perennial plantings surround the water feature, creating a Japanese theme landscape. Landscape lighting was installed to highlight the waterfall and other architectural elements.
